takes you to the Anglers' Paradise

The Lake Michigan waters around Manistee have a solid reputation for providing trophy salmon and trout.
More state "Master Angler" awards have been earned here than in any other part of the state.

The Manistee river is stocked annually with various species of trout and salmon, and as these adult fish begin to school in the lake before beginning their annual migration upstream the action can get fast and furious.

The early season in May has provided an exciting Brown Trout fishery. To lure these fish to our baits we move into shallow waters close to the scenic coastal cliffs and dunes.

The action gets fast and furious

In recent years, mid June and July have offered deep water Steelhead Trout fishing that has attracted national attention. Hooking on to a leaping Steelhead can be an unforgettable experience.

The prime target all season is the huge fighting Chinook Salmon. Rightfully called the "King", the Chinook's sheer size, power, and battle to land one will have you talking about your outing for months.

As the season progresses, the silvery Coho Salmon move into the area on their way to their spawning grounds.

Adding to the action while trolling in these waters is the muscle-tiring pull of the lake's native trout.
